Week of The Young Child- Music Monday

 It's the Week of The Young Child! Not only is this week, it's the 50th Anniversary of the Week of The Young Child. Throughout my career, I have celebrated this week in many different ways. This year will be much different for me, as I am not in the classroom everyday, BUT, I will celebrate anyway! Today is "Music Monday". This day is probably my favorite of the days. Music is so incredibly powerful in my life and it is so important for young children. Rather than give you all of my opinions and suggestions for different types of music to play for or with children, I want to pose a wondering. I am sharing a quote, and would love to engage in some conversation with you about them. What are your thoughts? Would you share them with me? 

New job... New Journey...Same me

 It has been a long time since I sat at this keyboard and created a blog post. A lot has happened in the past year. The world is spun upside down for so many of us. Between the pandemic, schools closing, reopening, small businesses struggling, people going through personal loses, and so much more, the last year has just been.... a lot. So, in the spirit of change... allow me to re-introduce myself to you.  I am Rachael Ennis. I was a classroom teacher for the past 17 years until this past January. See, a few years ago, I told my husband I wanted to go back to school. I had my A.A.S and wanted to go for my B.S. in Child Development. He agreed, I worked full time and took classes online, got that degree, and decided I wasn't quite done yet. My heart's desire was to teach and work with the educators that are in the classroom daily, and to not be in the classroom myself. Please, don't misunderstand me. I loved being in the classroom with young children. I needed a challenge, so...
